when mother’s day comes around, we often think about the mom’s we have that mean so much to us, the one’s who’ve transitioned to heaven that meant so much to us, the mom’s we wish we had, the mom we wish we could be, or the mom we hope we are. sometimes holiday’s that are built around praise bring forward the shadowy feelings we’ve been bypassing from within.
i took the featured picture on may 1st. it was the day my sister, the youngest of eight grandchildren, gave birth to her daughter – named after my grandmother, and born on my great-grandmother’s birthday. one might say, ‘wow, what are the chances’ but it felt divinely placed, decided far before my sister even knew she’d be a mom.
this reminded me of how we’re all here as mothers, whether we are raising children or not. because as women, we were given the gift of being able to create life. to birth. our womb space is where we manifest and then release each month what no longer is, what no longer serves.
we hold immense power in our divine mothering gifts. we mother our dreams, our friendships, our laughter, our lovers, our abundance, our businesses, our earth. tapping into our ability to mother, whether we have (or had) a little person come into this world and call use mama. knowing that we have limitless opportunities and ways to mother in every area of our lives.
so even though mother’s day was yesterday, take a look at all of the different ways that you use your gift of mothering. look at the ways in your life that people always look to you for support in certain areas of their lives. look at how you take care of your own heart. if you have children, look at how you sew into them from your well everyday.
remember that as women, we procreate – we multiply small things into big things, we create blessings in our own lives + in the lives of others, we produce from nothing.
we, women, can do anything.
